Carbon Deposits Removal by Hydrogen

This is a new technology to remove carbon deposits in combustion engine by introducing Hydrogen

to engine and create high temperature environment in side the cylinder and to burn out carbon.

It is a not invasive way to clean the engine comparing to the chemical reagent and other clean stuff that

pour into the engine and etching or dissolving metal surface of the cylinder.

Hydrogen was introducing to engine via air filter compartment. The flow rate of the Hydrogen was controlled using a

Mass Flow Controller.

CO2 (Carbon Di-oxide) concentration information was taking into recording and display in the computer screen by a

NDIR sensor connected to the tail pipe.

In the first 2 minutes, the CO2 concentration was record as a reference status before cleaning. The H2 was introduce via MFC according the following parameter:

l          The fuel used Gasoline or Diesel、

l          The size of the engine、

l          The number of the cylinders、

l          The RPM (revolution per minute) of the idle engine.

During the cleaning process, the CO2 parameter is constant monitoring to ensure the clean cycle under control.

There are two safety device to ensure the H2 was cut off if the idle engine stopped. The first device is the CO2 sensor in the tail pipe. When it drop to below ambient CO2 level, H2 will be cut off. The second device (under construction) pressure sensor in the air filter senses the pressure drop to zero then it cut off the H2.

The following photos explain the process of the clean cycle.
